The best song ever?

Ya know it's funny there's so few songs on here that I'm like "no f*ckin' way" on... Most are really solid bets.

Different thought pattern tonight...

I'm going to toss in votes for:

Sailing the Devil Seas, by the Allman Bros.,
I love living in the city by Fear and
Love Light by the Dead.

How did the Dead not get mentioned even once, by the way? Freakin' hippies don't generally own offshore boats, I suppose...

Low Ride-ER drives a little slower, Low Ride-ER gets a little higher now.........

That song takes me back to a bright shiny time in my life...(my sis was 12 yrs older than me) :biggrinjester:

What criteria does a song have to have to be the best ever? Something you can listen to over and over? thats lasted for years? that everybody knows and likes? something that makes you smile? something that stirs us emotions? any kind of emotions?

Hey in the 60's I think my favorite would have been Happy Birthday ... or a Christmas jingle ... possibly even the Sesame Street theme :sifone:
:

60's.......I remember 3 days with some good music......
.
.
.
......A few years back I heard some kids playing some 'NEW' music by a ''NEW'' group of 'older dudes'......
.
.
.
.....I did not have the heart to tell them....... ;)

I haven't chimed in on this thread yet, because this is a pretty heavy question.
I mean, "the best song ever"....
WOW, that is a tall order.
I'll put up "Heaven and Hell" Black Sabbath - love how it starts out slow, and slowly changes tempo through the song - genius.
Rush has to be in here someplace.
And, I made a special run out tonight to pick up a copy of Kid Rock's Devil without a cause because my old on got destroyed. Don't ask.

such a killer album. its weird cus you can sit and drink whiskey to it, or you can put the top down and drive on the highway listening to it.

Hand of Doom get's my Black Sabbath vote! Look how young Ozzy looks in this vid, :) I don't think Ozzie got the credit he deserved for being a great singer.
