Thanks Matt Trulio for giving Big Seas "History of Skater DVD" Thumbs Up!

Just curious guys seeing that i have not seen the DVD yet is there any footage of Tom Slamecca's 32 that was lengthened ?:)

Not on the DVD.

We were right behind it in Marathon when it disintegrated just outside the bridge. The local radio reported that it had hit the bridge, which it did not, but it was pretty much destroyed, I think the result of stuffing.

Saw it at Skater the next week, and all I can say is that To was a VERY lucky guy.

The guys were hurt in the accident and were in the hospital for alittle while. They got one of the first few 40 Skaters right after that....

Any truth to Tom's claim at the time that Peter GAVE it to him at no cost?

If so, that's one heck of warranty Skater had/has.

I have no idea about this story, but I do know Pete is very generous, and you are really one of the family if you are in one of his boats.

You're probably right.

And yes, my son David did work at Skater one summer long, long ago.

Do you happen to know what's become of Tom Slemecka and his boat ,Hyperactive?

Unfortunately, Alan Dunteman passed away a few years ago.
Sorry to hear that and not to dwell on the past but those days of racing and the people were pretty top notch and being able to talk with most of then that came thru Skater was like one big family and after getting to know most of them i found that they were all really stand up people and can i say that those were the good ole days , if you know what i mean .

My copy was waiting for me when i came back from FL great DVD lots of cool running pictures.

They boat that we are talking about was HyperActive a 32' Skater that was lengthened to 35' and it crashed and blew apart in Marathon in an OPT race.
