Bronco did that when I got it out of storage last year.
Except, the other way around, went to the LOW side.
Ran and sounded good, knew it wasn't zero.
Did get scared more after replacing the sender and still zero.
Tee'd in another gage, all good.
Second (correct) sender finally got things to work right on the dash.
Hard not to pay attention when you see something like that.
