Svl

Have the rules been standardized with weights, power, drives etc for SBI and OPA/OSS now?

Basically. OSS and SBI are. OPA doesn't as I understand have there own SVL class the boats fit into a p class. OSS has been 4850lbs and was a compromise to encourage other boats. It was agreed we all weight 4750 for SBI. That is the best weight IMO. It is an easy adjustment for all of us.

But if OSS and OPA are working together to benefit each other, there has to be a consensus on SVL rules. Correct????

And your Sarasota comprimise should help to determine the permanent rules for the class? So far, everything I've read everywhere, said SVL was the best class of all in Sarasota.

were all agreed <current owners> that 4750 will be the svl weight we had a conferance call a while back and it just now has to be addressed at oss. BEFORE ST.CLAIR it doesn.t make sense to run svl,s with 2 differant weights there are not enough to go around right now, we ONLY did it to help some ghost boats that never showed up anyway. sorry it,s a sore subject for me? i will NEVER race again at 4850 ! :cuss: the only reason someone would change the weight would be to make the boats ORG spacific. and then goes another class down the drain, i,,ll stop now i feel my cheeks sweating.:willy_nilly:

OSS is 4850 for this season at this point. We talked about changing it back to 4750 but it did not pass with the 100% vote needed. It can still be brought back up for disscussion and voted on every day till the end of the season but it has to pass with a 100% saying to change the rule.
I have talked about opening up the SVL class for LOTO and allowing some differant combinations in our class for that race. At this point its just that ,talk. It needs to be aproved by 100% of the participating SVL teams.

The way I see it is SVL at 69 mph average is the pase to beat. We all hit that lap speed at one time or another. But can you do it for 60 miles? It was hot ,nasty and just plain ocean racing. If we did it the next day the results would be different and the next day different. But at the end of the week we would all be smiling from ear to ear.

Its only an observation but you can always toss the first lap out. Start possession, first turn ect always have effects on first lap speeds. It was cool starting with the cat outboards. We all had to eat bad water for the first lap. In my opinion that made it more fun.

randy you better recall better than that > we had that call ?as for lotO and at that time we didn.y have another hand full races added we all voted on 4750?? letting BRAD run without SEALS,?? LETTING COOPER run his NXT.?? letting BOB and STEVE run VORTECS ?? and ANY 525 " LIKE " BOATS ? remember batboats ect... and 500 dollar entrys for all new teams , and equial pay out for all. ... WE ALREADY INVITED 8 TEAMS TO JOIN ?????? RANDY i can show you some of the problem look at your post <quote> " I " HAVE TALKED ABOUT IT see it " i " " i " OSS IS "WE" "WE" there is the reason OSS is in trouble people thought it was there own little " I " NOTE: SUGGEST " we " get this stright soon there are ONLY 5 regestered svl.s so you CAN,T have a rule conferance call with twenty people on the phone ,,,, you can have a rules disscusion for thr future 2010 . randy i love like a brother ,, i,m just ****....d off at what happened to US and knowone else ?? OPA IS BAILING US OUT??? AND I JUST HAD THE ONE OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY RACING VENUES. so the word economy is an exquse for poor decisions. i,ll stop but please call me. congradulations for you and bruce you all deserved it !

As the class rep "I" was in charge of comunicating to the board what "I" felt was the pulse of SVL. "I" was voted into the position by "we". Your opinion was always heard weather "I" agreed with it or not. "We" as a class vote on all rule changes.
