My favorite SVL race was Daytona 2001. Dry pits in the infield of Daytona Speedway, very willing/open local sponsors, and big, big water. My back still hurts....
My SVL highlight was racing the Wild Card in Biloxi several years ago. Sean Rogers and I ran it with a couple laps of testing. We finished 3rd after a great battle with the IMCO team. I remember we were running a best speed of 91mph.......
My obvious favorite SVL race was in St Clair last year. We had problems with the BatBoat overheating, and the propellor Dave was supposed to bring to give us more speed, (we were against the limiter most of the time we didn't have to slow for engine cooling). But, the SVL guys were nice enough to let the Bat Boats compete in that race. Rick and I had a blast. And, we didn't crash Dean's boat.....:sifone:
Plus, I got the Hot Shots pic for Powerboat Magazine in that race thanks to Freeze....:03:

Great question,
Clearly the new race team, ( Fountain) has the the best looking boat, uniforms, and race site display
The Typhoon has the best looking babes around
The Happy Team is Pirate
The rest is a toss up
That number 55 activator was a memorable experience everytime I got in it.Our first race with that boat ended short. Our eyes were watering and we were gagging from the gas fumes in the cockpit. They were so bad we had to stop and get out of the boat before a spark turned us into a BBQ.Come to find out the beauty I bought the boat from lag bolted the seats right thru the top of the gas tank.It was probably a good thing though cause when we opened the engine hatch a water line had come lose was filling the engine comp. with water. But the most memorable experience was in that #28 Pig Iron boat in Biloxi when Brad Johnson and I rolled it over and it didnt right itself. All those dunker test really paid off for us as everything went exactly by the book on the way out.
