Strange water hose

Question:

On ONE of my engines I have a T-fitting on the water hose that runs from my strainer to my Water pump. That hose then runs up through the "wall" where the fuel lines go through and I Have NO Idea where it goes from there. Any idea what the hell this could be to?

It is about a 3/4-1" Inner Diameter hose....

cooling system flush hose; might have had deck fitting(s) at one time. The other engine may not have the T-fitting because the hose might have been replaced in the past. my .02 - Jeff

Now you're on to something.....

Now that you say that I seem to remember noticing that one side fills the strainer from the outdrive side and the other seems to "backfill" the strainer from the water pump side when I am flushing the engines.

does the hose go to the cockpit side of the bulkhead? also perhaps the flushing hose(s) may have followed the route of the fuel pickup lines then proceed forward and exit near the fuel fill hose; might there have been a couple of deck fitting near your fuel fill and fuel vent fitting?

Get a helper and trace it. It has to be an old engine flush, a heater or hot water tank, or ? But you need to track it down. The BT has two, one for each engine flush, but a similar setup.

Pop it off and run a fish-tape through it. When you hit something, keep tapping it and listen to find the end of it.
