Here's a poll for each of you. Given the choice of top speed, but the likelihood of a season ending failure or reliability that attains speeds around 65-70% of the other choice, which would you choose?
But any boat is a compromise of something.
But here's my thoughts. I go to bunch of the poker runs. Don't need to be the first at the lunch stop or first back at the docks. You "GET' to lunch.. you "GET" back to the slips.. nothing broken, had a great time.. IT'S A GOOD BOATING DAY. :26:
Oh yah, and I'd also like to be in the US on a foreign diplomatic visa so I don't have to insure the boat and if anyone gets hurt, I can just tell everyone to F' off and I can go back to Sealand or where ever I came from...
'36 Skater canopy boat with a pair of flamethrowing blower motors and Arnesons or Weismanns would be just fine thank you...
I'll tie it up to my '65 Stryker when I'm ready for drinks...
My boat is set up with the second choice now and runs 72-74mph and I like it that way. When it was built by the original owner it had 750hp blower engines.
In the future I'd like to upgrade the power to about 550hp and have a good comprimise and run about 85mph.
I went with DEAN GELLNER to get reliability and top performance, instead of my local guy. So I am happy:sifone:, just got to move that bulkhead a few inches for the blower pulley:sifone:
