We've discussed several different themes on music, but how about songs you can't stand from some of your favorite artists.

I like Billy Joel.......but if I hear "Piano Man" one more time someones going to die.:smash:

Quest for Fire by Iron Maiden. Let's Have a War by Fear. Anything by Metallica after Master of Puppets.

Three bands I like a lot who sh1t the bed on those songs.

I don't know how this fits the category, but I hate every AC/DC song out there.
Yet, I see they served there purpose and were a good band - butr I just can't stand them. Maybe because they are so overrated, and have been overplayed for decades.

Guns and Roses "you could be mine".

As I read this, "Back In Black" is playing on the radio (WAPL in Appleton, WI) :lurk5:

Funny. I love AC/DC, but you're the second person this week who's said that to me (not that this is exactly "to me", but you know what I mean!)

Truckin' by the Dead is close. I have very limited patience for that song but love the Dead.

Patience by GnR is another one for me.

I really enjoy a lot of Queensryche songs, but Silent Lucidity bites!
I will 2nd the Iron Maiden mentioned too. They actually have a couple others that sent them too far into story telling and too far from ROCKING!

Im the opposite. I like old metallica Kill em all, master of puppets, and justice for all but when the black album came out i think they started to go down hill

But you are ok with "Uptown Girl?" :banghead:

Agreed. I can listen to the entire Mindcrime album, but Empire had some serious weaks spots. "Resistance" is about the only decent tune, IMO.

When I saw the Empire tour back in like 1991, they opened with Resistance and then played Mindcrime all the way through.

Pete, you and I are on the same page. Kill 'em All, And Justice for All, Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightening... That's where I get off the bus too. After those early albums, I think they were just a bunch of rich guys doing Metallica covers.

Along with that thinking...
Iron Maiden ended as I know them at the Powerslave album.
They had a few hit and miss good songs after that (Stranger in a Strange land, Fear of the dark), but in general the albums seemed more about "Staying at the top and putting out an album" as opposed to when they were "younger" and "hungrier".

Same thing with Guns n Roses. I saw them play the Toledo Sports Arena ~'87. It was about three weeks before "Welcome to the Jungle" hit heavy rotation on MTV.
That was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They were "hungry" and they really "worked".
Once they "broke-out", Axl became the phockin' prima donna that he is today...

Mindcrime was a great album. I wish I had seen them on that tour.
Anything else by Queensryche did very little for me.

The Bare Naked Ladies most of their songs. Saw them live with a bunch of other better bands and after added them to my must always see live groups.

I am not sure who does Bohemian Rapsody (sp) I heard it last week and remembered how popular it was and how much I thought it sucked
