Sigh... I cant wait for the miami boat show.. Headed to go fill up the generators and stock up on firewood, AGAIN..

Our last big ice storm left my mom and dads ranch without power for nearly 3 weeks. The ice snapped all the telephone poles and froze them to the ground so no one could get to them to work on it..

I saw that too. Latest I heard was up to 12"s of snow on top of 1/2" of ice. Looks like I am headed to the store today after work. Last time we were without power for 5 days. I am not sure i can handle this again. :banghead:

Theres only two things keepin me in Oklahoma.. Its Grand Lake and my job.. if the lake dried up and I could do what I do anywhere else, Id be gone.

I love living in Austin. We have the best lake in the state (Lake Travis) and I love my good-paying job.

I drove from here to Alma Nebraska last year at this time, got caught up in some chit ( sleet, snow, ice) south of Tulsa, had I-40 shut down, thank god i was going north and didn't need to get on the interstate. you guys can keep that crap:willy_nilly:

Thats the good/bad thing about oklahoma is the extreme seasons.. We get all of it and we get it BAD.. When it rains, it floods.. When it snows, its a blizzard.. When it rains in the winter, its an ice storm.. Summer Heat waves over 100 degrees.. Humidity that feels like a sauna..

Oh, did I mention Hail storms and Tornadoes?

yea we only get that once in a blue moon, 7" of snow two years ago, and 2" last year and a bad ice storm in 82 i think.
I was packing my wild turkey 101, warm sleeping gear and food in the cab just in case I had to spend the night on the road.

They are saying 12 plus inches in our area, Folks this SUCKS!! I am suppose to be headed to gymnastics meet in Fayetteville friday afternoon, hopefully it is cancelled if this weather moves in. I thought we were going to get to go to Miami BUT another gym meet that weekend in Wichita
