The hurricane tracking center is calling for Irene to be just off the New York coast on Sunday the 28th at noon.

What are the current discussions? Anybody, anything?

I remember talking with Glass Dave about one race there in the past when a hurricane was out farther off shore. Said it was the coolest spacing of really big swells he had ever seen. Had a blast.....

As of this time the race is on. Asking The Good Lord to let us have this race and to leave the waters just rough enough for The Boyz to show you just how NUTZ they really are, and after all the time, money, effort and bull $hit Louie The Rigger had to go through my feeling is it's a go!

Thanks Augie. I sure as heck hope it works out perfect. Luie deserves it.......

And he is running really sweet this year too.......:26::hurray::26:

I raced West Palm after Hurricane Dennis. They were called 19'ers. In F2 we would go up the hill and down the hill wide open and the boat seldom left the water. It was a blast. The Supercharged SV's and Supercats were spanning a few of them. OMG was that cool to witness.

Just think, If the Doctors would have allowed me to race, with the 100 MPH winds they predict, The condo may have broke 90 MPH ! Wouldn't that have been the talk on the computer. Whatever happens, I pray everyone is safe.

I'm hoping for the perfect conditions for an Offshore Race. Really big, evenly and perfectly spaced swells with a 1' to 2' chop on top.......

You'd probably even make it out there for a spin. No matter what the Doc says........:sifone:

AUGIE, i hope everybody up there is safe..and for a real friend i want u to be even safer and dont even think about getting on a boat !!!

BTW, my boat and truck is in LI right now..i hope it will be fine ...i miss my baby !!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL , NO MATTER WHAT.. I HOPE U ALL DO THE RIGHT THING !:USA:

Something to keep in mind, Safety assets must be able to be on station. here is the vitals on a Robinson R22/R44:

Robinson R22/R44
The Robinson Helicopter Company produces light rotor-craft carrying either two or four passengers. According to an FAA Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin, ASW-95-01 (January 1, 1995) "Do not fly if any of the following conditions exist: surface winds (including gusts) exceeding 25 knots, surface wind gusts exceeding 15 knots, wind shear forecast or observed, and/or turbulence forecast or observed to be moderate, severe or extreme. Turbulence is a function of several factors, predominately gross weight. Relatively light gross weights make the R-22 and R-44 more susceptible to the effects of turbulence. Most notably, main rotor flapping and aircraft attitude are affected by turbulence and can lead to blade stall, abrupt control inputs in response to uncommanded attitude deviations and, ultimately, mast bumping."

Good luck to all, but be safe, there will always be more races!

That's too bad, but kind of expected.......

Weather Channel says nasty schit there Sunday noon.....

Just saw on Facebook race is officailly canceled! Friday Night Block party is ON!!!

Yeah, everything else was in place BUT the weather! We don't want to take any chances. Going out this afternoon to meet my cousin Val and give Louie The Rigger some kind of support then Evil Ed (Cleveland Construction) is gonna follow me back to my warehouse in Jersey and leave his boat there till the SBI New York Race. Val and I gotta get home to Toms River, NJ before 6AM Saturday as they are closing all roads East of what we call Rt. 9 which means even I may not be able to get home. So THANKS to everyone for all the support for this and all our events. Everyone, BE SAFE!
