I'm not laughing here. This isn't funny. I can see my breath, there's frost on the ground, and I'm stuck inside the house. This is awful. I hate being inside.
We left Tierra Verde FL last Sat it was 50's outside, drove straight through and got home Sun at 6am..... it was 14 when we pulled into the driveway here in VA. Hasn't been much above freezing since.
Got a Buddy that lived in Mich here & took a buyout from a company near Detroit after 32 years, moved 2 the Cape Coral area about a year ago!!! He is a Florida convert 4 sure!! He's been pizz'n bout the weather!! I take pleasure in his pizz'n!!!!!:biggrinjester:
I think its hardest to adjust to the change from warm to cold. Once it gets cold and stays that way if you dress properly and get outside regularly you acclimate to it and its not that bad. I think the cold is theraputic.
Gotta Agree with Tommy here (whaaattt).
When it´s cold for longer periods one gets used to it..same goes with warmth bytheway.
We get used to being in the sauna at 200+ degrees and on the same day be outside in subzero temps.
Actually someone mayde a study that Northerners dress up so much the body is in tropical conditions mostly...
And what comes to sleeping...
Well while in the Army we had an exercise in Lapland and I had to be on post during the night at around -15F temps...
We had dug a hole in the snow for the outpost but I thought being more comfy doesn´t do bad so I went after some spruce branches enough to have a layer thick enough to keep myself warm..
Offcourse being comfy and watching the Northern lights with night binoculars made me sleepy and I dozed of for a while and woke up on my back being not the slightest frozen.
The wind chill factor made it feel warmer away from it...
Gotta say I felt good when I woke up.
