We have visited this spectacular place . The west coast of Vancouver Island . Beautiful resorts , a great place to watch the fall storms in November .

Used to take my boat up to the San Juans and Canadian San Juans every year when I lived in Oregon. Ran into the roughest water I've ever been in on the south side of Vancouver Island in the strait one time. Thought I was sunk for sure.

Just watch out for the cougars when camping

I see it's a big surf spot too. Beautiful.

Where do you stay during a storm? I've stayed at the Inn at Spanish Head on the Oregon coast during a storm and the waves broke out all the windows on the bottom 3 floors and flooded them all. We stayed up high. The whole building shook every time a big wave hit.

Yes you do have to watch out for the cougars even when you're just going for a surf weekend. :26: :26:
