I wouldn't go as far as phragle, but every Wellcraft Scarab needs to be thoroughly checked out. There seems to be a lot inconsistency in the quality of assembly. Having torn apart two 38' scarabs, I was alternately delighted and chagrined with things that I saw. For example, pay attention when you disassemble the cockpit sole and inspect the fuel tank cavity. You may see chamfered holes where fuel vent tube goes to deck fitting, appropriate backing for the bolster mounts, good wiring and strong stringer bridges for the center section of the sole OR things may need serious attention.
