Room bugged ...?

When you are the only one in the room, call your GF/wife/voicemail or whatever and start saying that you really think your boss is great, that you want to be like him one day, you love working for him and don't under stand why all of your co-workers think he is such a pr1ck that likes young boys and rumor is (insert name of dude you like the least) has been nailing the bosses wife.

Boss was having a fit for some of the websites that were turning up in the monitoring so one day when he was working and stepped out of the room, one of my co-workers went over to his terminal and searched a few risque sites under his account. Had all I could do to keep a straight face after ROFLMAO.

1. Find a new job. If you even suspect that you work for someone like that you're never going to have a happy, comfortable career.

Good advice, but I'm having way too much fun out here in LV and can take a little grief now and then in exchange. Definately not a quitter either, just need to keep performing and get back to your next suggestion.

2. Act like you're in the Mafia. Keep your mouth shut. Don't "vent". Don't say anything that doesn't benefit you in some fashion.

Focus on your job and stay away from negative social situations.

Definately the best way to deal with the situation.

It's easy to spot the people who are the top performers and that's typically who the boss likes best. They make the boss look good to his boss. Align yourself with them. They might not be the most fun or the most interesting, but this is your job. Plus you get the added benefit of being around positive thinking people and that makes it easier for you to be one.

These are the ones that have already left for the same reasons.

That's the key there, keep your trap shut. There are lot of people that blow off smoke biching about stuff at work, and it never fails it usually gets back to the person, typically the boss, that they are biching about. And the main reason for that is other people can't keep their trap shut and looove to gossip at work about what they overheard.
