Very sad.

John will be missed by his family, and the entire drag boat community. He was one of the best at what he did!

The accident happened 20 miles from me and this is the first I've heard of it

We were very sorry to hear of the wreck. Most of the guys up here who lived and boated in the Gun Lake area knew him fairly well. Nice guy, will be missed. He hung around with several of our members like Earhart and Covey. Used to see him sometimes when I lived over on Gun.

I believe he still holds the record, but not positive.
