I finally weighed my 38 Pure Pressure (ex Lock n Load) on our scales here. Came in at 14,220 lbs. I guess that explains the ride and top speed a little better (Tonto's 41 was about 12,500). I guess they really did lay it up heavy to do the Venice to Monte Carlo run. I fell in love all over again coming home from Key West on Monday. What a ride!

Yea, don't ever sell that boat!

I need to weigh my pig some time.:sifone:

Man, that's one heavy 'Gun!

My 1989 TG weighs 11,300 lbs with 1/2 tanks. Where did they put the extra 3000 pounds?

Carl that is a heavy sucker. I havn't weighed mine but I would love to find out what it weighs. Was that with full fuel tanks? Cause that is worth around 2000#'s

Boat look's great!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've seen boat weights quoted that the person neglected to deduct for the trailer.

My 31-foot Bullet weighs 10,000 with full tanks. Add in a half a dozen hot girls and two coolers full of drinks, and it is heavy.

But, I wouldn't have it any other way! :sifone:

That was the story told to me by Phil and Johnny at TNT. They laid it up extra heavy after they busted up Fat Boy in the Venice to Monte race a year or two earlier. Johnny did all the cutting and rigging and also added stringers and bulkheads. We weighed the boat on our sling scales that were just calibrated, no trailer. We use them whenever we are shipping boats on our yard trailers and they are usually within a hundred or so when the driver hits the scales on the road.

After I put the Chief 900's in the boat and it only went 90 I called Phil and asked what he thought. I told him this was a 90 MPH model and supposed to weigh around 10,000 full fuel and the factory guarenteed 90 mph with 700's I believe. His comment was "who told you that weight". He remembered it was 12,500 weighed on a truck scale back then. I can't find any info from the old brochures on this model????

It weighed 12,750 with just at 50 gallons fuel left after Key West. She holds over 320 gallons. I pumped in 222 gallons once it was on the trailer (1,443 lbs) Seeing this I guess Tommy didn't give some of my horsepower to somebody else.

I do like Clays approach to adding weight though!

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah I like surrounding myself with Indians; Tatonka, Tonto, Medicine Man, Predator, Jester, Pale Face, Crazy Horse to name a few. I guess mine is about as close to a 41 as I'll get with the staggered motors, boxes, weight and those tiny tabs

Hi Carl, we also had a great ride back from Key West to Key Largo. The head wind was tough on the ears. I told you at the B&B that mine weighed 14K full of fuel. If you run the boat after the first of the year call and we will come down. Kirk

Steve had sent me the pics to post on oso back in 05, when everyone first got to see it, you did a great job with it. I only hope he puts Allez Vite back together.

Yeah Rob it was a lot of work but well worth it, if it can be defined as worth.

Hi Jim,

I put it back on the trailer for a while to do some detailing and also maybe change that damn rub rail. You need to get me some of the polish now that you shamed me into it. Mike Ellis and I were talking about flying up to see you guys sometime in the new year and maybe ride that airboat!!

Give me a call when you get some time

Come on up. I will call for an address to send the polish.

You have WAY too much free time. Call me when you can. I think I am going to start posting my pre rebuild pics so I don't feel so bad.

I guess he really enjoyed the boat before I got it!
