Looks like there are going to be at least two large classes in St Clair!!!:hurray:

Class 6, 12 Possible Teams

Akula
Bad News
Maxed Out
Wazzup II
Reindl Bat Boat
Knot Guilty
PFE
Crockett Rockett
Hurricane Force
Mamagrams Saves Lives
Sikorski Racing #602
Repeat Offender

(I'm not positive there are two different Bat Boats) That will be quite the wide linup at the start. I have a drink bet with Gary in PFE. He says he will not break out!!!! It is tough to do with the current in the St Clair river, (between 5 and 6 knots when it's flowing normal. Probably less this year). I think last year they broke out about 20 times there:). I know they didn't break out in Tawas, but Tyler and George weren't there with the Rocket, and there was no current. I'll let you know....

SVL, 6 Possible Teams
Absolutely Not
Pirate Racing
Wild Ride
Tug it
Octane
Typhoon

This would be a great turnout for the SVL guys. I believe all of these boats have the sealed engines for OPA competition except Absolutely Not. One of the interesting things for them, because it is a grandfathered boat at 4550 lbs, all they will have to do to use their unsealed engine is add the required 250 lbs, which puts them at 4800 lbs. That is what they normally run at in SBI anyway I believe. Other than that, all they need to do is put the stock ECM back in so it won't rev over 5450 RPM and run the 1.5 ratio drive. I believe the boat has already been P&G'd and Whistled at SBI. Should be a competitive race for the guys.

I haven't heard for absolute positive, but I don't think the propshaft dyno has been completed yet. I'll dig into that a bit more to find out for sure. I'm not sure what's taking so long, I think it was ordered back in March.

The other classes look to be;

Class 1
Cleveland Construction
JEM Motorsports
Lightning Jack's

Class 3
Bull on the Beach

Class 4
Twin Screws
Velocity Racing
Simmons Marine

Class 5
Pushin Tin
Whoz Your Daddy

Extreme
Cat Can Do
Miss Geico

Miss Geico should be the Maritimo boat with 1150's I believe.

Super Cat Light
Infinity
Amsoil
Phoenix Parts

Super Vee
Strictly Business
Wazzup

Outboard Stock
Blacksand
Talbot Excavating
Double-Edge Motorsports

I never got any info as of yet about the dyno from Smitty. I know we ( 5 teams) pre paid $1500 pryer to the season so we would have it at the first race. No official letter to all the SVL teams as to why we dont have it yet. I heard before the season started there was a concern about the -2 loweres may not work with it. Simple solution was proposed that we all unbolt our lowers and put on a standard lower for the dyno test. Yes we all know its extra work but agreed if thats what it takes to get it hear ASAP then we will do it till something else can be modified for the dyno. The SVL fleet is doing there part. An official responce would be great when it will be here. Trying to get more boats to more races as the season grows and that dyno is a hugh part of verifying a spec motor. There is a possability of over 10 boats at the worlds if we have the dyno we were told we will have. Its close to impossable to stop the finger pointing and acuasations of cheating with out it. Its the next tool needed in tec in my opinion. Growth is no cheap or easy.

I'll chat with Smitty and see if there is anything I can do to help. Our Marlin was dynoed on a Land and Sea propshaft dyno, as well as the engine dyno. We also built a mini dynp for our gas RC record boats working with them. (That was fun!!!)

I thought there were 6 teams that paid the $1500 early so the dyno could be purchased? (I know that 5 was what was required, but I thought 6 paid it). Oh well, goes to show......

Heading over that way shortly. We'll see how practice goes today and how many are there.

Typhoon tested today and all systems are a go. Louie and special guest T man said boat is ready for big event. Six SVL teams are there and ready to race to see who will rule the river.

Yep, just finished dinner with Pirate at the Rivercrab.

SVL

1st - Octane
2nd - Pirate
3rd - Typhoon

A good race. Pirate took the early lead, Typhoon second running on the ragged edge. Octane third. Octane finally picked off Typhoon, but Pirate did not notice. So, they were watching how far ahead of Typhoon they were, Tyler and Jim snuck up on the outside and all of a sudden, "Where the heck did they come from?????"

Pirate tried to run them back down, but they hit a hole on the front straight and almost did a complete stuff at about 45 degrees. That finished them off and Octane won. Great race, fun to watch. Tugit ran real loose trying to keep up, but they didn't have enough prop. They were on the limiter upstream and down. Absolutely Not hurt something in the motor. They were fast on the straights, had issues with the corners a bit. I think the gear ratio change and rpm change hurt them a bit without enough setup and test time. Wild Ride was exactly that, a wild ride.....

Jim's first win with Octane, congrats to him and Tyler....

Congratulations Jim and Tyler!!!

Could not have written a better script.

Jim works all winter long, builds a new boat!

Wins in his home turf !!!

Fantastic job guys!! All the crew and especially Jim!!!

Congratulations Doctor!! That was a long and well deserved win.. You have been such a great help to our team since we've gotten started, and your devotion to making our class stronger is unreal.. We had the best time in St.Clair with everybody, and our SVL family is definitely a fun ass family!!!! Great time, can't wait to try and pass ur ass in Port Huron! Thank you, and again NICE WORK!!!

Congratulations’ go out to Jim & Tyler, a great SVL win!!!! You should have heard me in the cockpit. Where the H#^^ did they come from… Travis and I are already researching installing onboard radar for the Pirate boat just to keep up with you guys. Warning: Be prepared for a Pirate Raid in Port Huron. Again, congratulations from the Pirates.

Congratulations octane!!!!! Sounds like a great race!!! Shelley and I really miss it! Miss the racing but more than that miss the Svl family.... Jim has worked his butt off on that boat, that's a much deserved win and shows that any Svl race is anybody's race to win.
