Question for the masses

I have a question for everyone or any one that has been in this situation.

My brother has been in prison for the last 7 years. He was sentanced to 7 years for involentary manslaughter. Well Nov 25th of this month he will be released to come home. 6 months ago he was all excited to come home and talking about things he wants to do, but now when myself or my parents talk to him he seems a little overwhelmed. Im sure its going to be hard for him to adjust back to normal living "outside" . Whats normal for us in everyday life will be abnormal for him.
Have any of you been in this situation before? If so is there anything that can be done to help them get used to outside life again? Just want to make things as easy as possible for him

Thanks

Brad

Thats a tough question and while I don't have any personal experience I am sure there are those who do.Will he be on parole? You could talk to his parole officer about it.Some states have group homes that he could live in to gradually adjust.Whatever you do try to get him to take it slow good luck.

It's gonna be tough. I have a buddy that was in prison for 5 years and he was a TOTALLY different person when he got out. Getting a job is tough enough in this economy without being fresh out of prison. Anything you could do to help him there would probably be the biggest help.
