We took my daughter Sarah out for her first licenced official snowmobile ride this weekend. Here in Ontario, 12 year olds can take a 7 hour safety course, write and exam and earn their snowmobile operators licence.

She took the course and test at christmas break and has been chomping at the bit for the trails to open. This weekend they did. :)

Sarah, known to my sleddin friends as "Killswitch" rockin down the river WOT at 47mph :)

Seems like just yesterday I brought home her first mini Z 120 but alas, that was 8 yrs ago. From running around the yard at 10mph to running down the trails like a true pro. :)

Congrats! That has to feel pretty dam good. Cool they have a safety course for the kids in the sport, too.

Thats the way to keep them close and communicating with you. Brace yourself! 12 is the start of puberty. And don't think the boys are much better.

Sweet!! Reminds me of the Yamaha Bravo that I learned to snowmobile on. Here I am 20 some years later and we still go on family rides...only now it is my brother and I leading and my dad bringing up the rear!!!

Although I hate to admit it, this season marks my 40th year of riding
In January 1970, dad brought home a one year old demo 69 Moto-Ski 300 Capri and let me lose on it :)

I got my wife into the sport in 1989 before we were married and my daughter has been riding with me since she was a baby. I think it might still be a few more years before she can out ride her dad :)
