The demise of the Super Cat Lite class was one of the most disappointing aspects of offshore ever. That 525 Merc was the backbone of SuperCat Lite, SuperCat Vee, and Vee Lite. But it seems like every super successful class in offshore tends to get F'd with so it makes them go away.

I was hoping, now with the introduction of the 450 Outboard Merc, that boats like this Motely Crew Cat Lite Skater, would start to be repowered for the 450 outboard class. But, they couldn't get the rules nailed down soon enough for conversions to be messed with.

george was great competitor during his time.he had talent.not an inherited quality obviously !.LOL

It was a class that was not terribly expensive either compared to the Super Cats themselves at the time.

oh the expense was half
.attrition was low.

and on a windy day or semi rough day they kept close to super cat times.

I always liked the idea of two premier classes only.

Super cat and super vee.

or cat lite ,super v lite. ( i prefered the latter )
