Power steering pump ?

Is there a way to tell if my power steering pump is going or gone?

GM type?
I suppose you could add a pressure gauge somewhere. I think the static pressure is around 50 PSI and the peak is around 1,000 PSI (like at the end of the stroke) or what ever your relief valve is set at.
Of course a faulty relief valve could be the cause of a failure too.
