(Nov. 29) - New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was accidentally shot in the leg at a nightclub, it was reported Saturday.
ESPN.com and Fox Sports.com said the wound was not life threatening. It was not clear at what club the shooting took place. The Fox Web site said Burress spent the night in the hospital and also reported that the accidental wound was self-inflicted.

MONROE, Ohio -Police in southwestern Ohio say a police chief mistakenly shot himself in the thigh after giving his daughter a gun safety lesson.
 
I said WTF to myself after reading this! Thanksgiving was the 1 year anniversary of Redskins Shawn Taylors murder so kind of fresh on my mind.

Buddy of mine was recruiter for UTEP and I met Plaxico back when he played for UTEP and partied with him in Pittsburgh

Line dropped from 10.5 to 3.5 on Giants vs Skins game this weekend

I'm not sure when it dropped- was 10.5 on Thanksgiving but was early. Plax was already set not to play- hamstring.
 
You know what? I am 45 years old and therehas only been one time in my life where I was at a party when someone was packing ( that I did not know was). You hang with wanabe gangsatas when you are one of them, not when you have made it. You want to run with the riff-raff to show off, you get what you ask for in my HOP.

Thats not far from me. How does a Police Chief possibly leave a round in the gun??? Moron!

Used to know a guy who is the head of the local SWAT team. About 20 years ago (before becoming a cop), he was showing an UZI to a friend. He pulled the slide back for a safety check, which pulled the sole bullet in it out of sight within the chamber, and released it with his finger on the trigger. The other guy was at point blank. Bullet went through his arm, into his gut and exploded (blazer round ). The guy lived somehow.

These guys are supposed to be pros. :huh:

The football player is behaving like most of those kinds of bums with money. Even if he had a permit, it's illegal to have a gun wherever there is booze.
 
I have been to many (illegal) Poker games where the hosts were packing heat. But, that was only to protect the players (us) from a potential home invasion.

There is absoutely no reason for anyone to be carrying a gun into a public night club. If a celebrity is worried about his personal safety, he should hire a security detail and let them carry the guns.

Plaxico was not only carrying an illegal concealed handgun, but a round was in the chamber and the safety was off! :eek:

How? Complacency. And the majority of LEO's aren't all that proficient with their weapons. It's not like the military where they use them on a constant basis. Many retire without ever having to use one in the line-of-duty (a good thing) Their requaliications are a joke. There are a handful that stay sharp on their own efforts, but they're few and far between.

Watching the news, it looks like he's in a world of chit... 1/4 mil bond? geez. NY has been very serious about guns lately. His days with the Giants may be over. All that $$$ and he's still a stupid punk.
 
Pac Man Jones got into a fight with his bodyguard and was suspended for 2 games.
Plaxico`s offense was MUCH more serious. I`ll say he will be suspended for remainder of season and the Giants will release him.
Either way, he is a stupid azz punk, gangsta wannabe.
