Pet Bird Thread

I have had my Blue and Gold Macaw for 24 years, he is the two year old that never grows up. Very dedicated to one person, loud at times, eats everything, you should see him eat chicken wings. The best advice I can give you is spend some time with the bird your buying, they have personalities too. Get the right cage and you will have a freind for life. One side note, my bird is deathly afraid of the water. We tried getting him involved with boating and just couldn't make it happen.

I have got a buddy who's wife rescues every little stray and injured animal she see's .Anyways she rescued a black bird that had broken its wing about 4 years ago and it lived in a little pen on their back porch
Well my buddy tends to lose his temper when he is fixing his mechanical stuff and just starts screaming profanities like he has tourettes. Well after a few years of the bird perfecting his profanity my buddy and his wife moved onto a golf course and the bird lived on the back porch by it.

The bird would start screaming profanities at the golfers at the top of its lungs when ever they went by.My buddy and i would sit inside with door open out of view and would be just dieing from laughing from the chit this bird would say and how worked up the golfers would get.It was a ber drinking event on Sundays.

He has a neighbor that moved in about 3 months ago that we have became pretty good friends with but didn't get to know him tell just recently.He said the bird would be screaming all kinds of chit over at him and he always thought it was my buddy yelling at him but being he thought he was half crazy he chose not to say anything .
The neighbor has told us some good stories of how worked up that bird used to get him that has had us falling off our beer drinking stools.

Funny stuff! I'm gonna have to watch my language when I get a bird for sure. I've spent the majority of my life on all kinds of job sites and can cuss with the best of them. :biggrinjester:
