"tossing the body over the side" just doesn't make much sense to me.
From a global political and military position, this would sound like a reason to ramp down the offensive forces, and ramp up the defensive forces on the homeland in the event of retaliation. But, if I were the leader of one of the allied countries in the mission, I would have a hard time lowering my forces on the offensive without significant proof that this part of the mission has been accomplished.

According to the recent news, it was decided to do a sea burial so no shrine to Osama would ever be created at a land grave site.

I'm glad that no grave site will ever be a shrine for the nut jobs out there. As for proof, the pics were released today.

Looks like we have positioned a new boogeyman by using the fourth estate. Every anti-US leader, whether legitimate or illegitimate wakes up from nightmares of Blackhawks entering whatever airspace that they want, supported by fighters and back-up helos from aircraft carriers far offshore. (Well, if they believe that OBL was not dead years ago from kidney failure.)

The writers of the statement appeared unaware of the announcement by American officials that bin Laden's body had been buried at sea. The statement warned against mishandling or mistreating bin Laden's body and demanded that be handed over to his family, saying "any harm (to the body) will open more doors of evil, and there will be no one to blame but yourselves."
The statement's authenticity could not be independently confirmed, but it was posted on websites where the group traditionally puts out its messages.

i can care less if he is dead or not, just saying who or when and how did he die if dead..and i think all this is a US scam to help the election !
Thast all i am saying, and if he realy is dead..then where is the proof..aperantly the US did a DNA test, shure they did from the blood samples they have on file when he was trained to become a terrorist here in the US by our forces !
