Yea Dawn me either! Here she is hauling some US Military Freight.

If I'm not mistaken due to the length laws that truck came with a shorter wheelbase with a single sleeper. From what I recall it wasn't until later in the 80's the doublewide sleepers were becoming more popular. Sweet ride and truely a classic. You should hire me to drive it and make you $$$.

I just restored this 1984 Ford LN9000 - 300 Cummins - 9 speed. It's pulling one om my new 53 ft vans. The driver " Dallas" has worked for me for 15 years.

Is there a purpose to stretching the frame like that or is for looks only?
It does make a better ride but definitely limits your ability to get in some tight places. I grew up driving tandem day cabs and this truck can give you the pucker factor at some docks.

In most cases it's for that cool "Look'n Large" look, but it's h!ll on the fuel mileage.
Some flat bedders will load long loads forward over the open space to avoid over length permits.
I ran NYC every week so it was out of the question for me and I was too much of a MPG nut to look that cool.

Check this one out. This Pete made a delivery to us this morning. Everybody took off runnin outside - haha.
