OK, Who knows anything about a Tojan...

About a year ago I acquired a 86 Tojan. It was the actual car used in some movie that no one ever saw named collision course. I knew that Knudsen built these things for a while on both the Pontiac and Camaro F body platform for GM. Not really much else is known about them.

However, this one has a 130k build sheet. Paxton Novi 2000 supercharged driveline built by Gale Banks along with a serious suspension set up to go along with it. The car like most movie cars was neglected for many years and I am finally in the process refreshing it.

Does anyone know if Banks was involved in the production of these, or is this just a one off build for the movie. Searchs have come up empty, with the exception of the body and production numbers. I have not seen one with these engine and driveline modifications. Does anyone out there know the specs. Thanks as allways.

Cant say I've ever heard of the car. Post a pic if you got any. I would probably start by contacting Banks. If they did a custom setup for a movie car, they might know a lil more about it. Another option is to try to contact the production company of the movie, if they are still around. You never know, someone might actually contact you with some info.

- Commissioned by GM, Knudsen Automotive, Inc produced approximately 150 Tojans between 1984 & 1991

- These cars were sold through select Pontiac dealers in California, New Jersey, Texas, & Florida

- Has every available option offered at that time

- 5.0 liter TPI V-8 engine

- 700R4 3-speed automatic transmission with overdrive

- Leather Recaro seats

- Gotti wheels

- Air conditioning

- AM/FM cassette with equalizer

- Digital electronic displays set in Burl wood trim

- Performance suspension

- Power disc brakes, steering, windows, & locks

- Cruise control & tilt steering

- Power side view mirrors, & hatch release

Thanks for the info Ratickle. My car is similar but does have variables. The Banks build is a mystery of sorts. Thing was supposed to make close to 700hp. Not bad for the 80's. Hard data is not easy to come by on these cars as the production numbers were so low. I have all the records and documentation but they are 20 years old and most companies do not go back that far on there builds.

a 'trojan' car does it have a big back seat and a stripper pole sticking up thru the sun roof??

phragle.....intellect. Need a pole?.....unless your a... But if you want a "pole" I am sure you have already found one for your self. It is just a car and a question. Thought actually more of you, quess I was wrong. My opinion.

Davidmnc. Thanks for the picture. Pretty bloody close. body looks the same. Wheels are different. My car also has a Lambo Sorta wing and T-tops. Sure looks like one. I do not know what changes, if any they made year to year.

Believe me the comments from the F body crowd were not kind to this design. In person it kind of grows on you. It looks like crap in pictures. Keep in mind it was an 80's design.

looks kinda like a briklin got busy with a camaro/fire bird, there are some additional styling cues there but I think you are safe at 88 mph.
