Oil in bilge, best way to clean?

My buddy lost an oil line in his family truckster today. Any suggestions on which products to use, which to avoid?

And yeah, she locked up solid. He says he never got a warning tone. He's got warranty until next year so he's hoping it won't be that painful. I told him to sweet talk the dealer to see if he can get it back with the 320hp cam/ECU and then upgrade the port side to match.

The oil absorbent pads should get 90 % of it just lay them around and push them into corners and stuff with a broom handle. Then use spray nine or dawn for the rest.

back trailer onto yard of neighbor with dog that barks all night, raise tongue high, pull plug. It's best to attempt after 3am and before 6am (oil runs faster)

Nope.

The best way is get Bobcat drunk and tell him it's spilled beer......:sifone:

If it's trailerable then I use any bilgle cleaner, dump it in there add a few bags of ice and drive to your destination. The ice will act as an aggetator and does a good job of cleaning. Pull the plug and wipe down.

Does it have any bad side to it as far as on stainless, paint, aluminum, etc?

It will clean aluminum so well it will start to haze in the sun. It needs to be rinsed. Having grown up in salt I always rinsed then sprayed will CRC on engine parts and painted things. I have been using it for about 15 years never hurt anything. It is not for top side things like upholstery, but it cleans engines and bilges like nothing else.

I was reading their sheet and it says don't use on Motorcycles????

I typed in CRC and this is what I got....:sifone:

Didn't know there was even a market for colons.....:ack2:

1 Costa Rican colon = 0.001732 U.S. dollars

I can only guess it is because of bare aluminum. I use it to clean the Merc race motors and it will haze polished and bare aluminum if you let it dry in the sun. I have seen no effect on stainless. It will leave a white film on painted surfaces if you let it dry. CRC and blow dry with air compressor or wipe dry with CRC and you will do have a problem. On things that are already generally clean spray and rinse is all that is nec.
