First he was a councilman.
Then he was elected to mayor twice.
Then Jack Ford was elected and he slept for 2 years, like Rip Van Winkle. Meanwhile... Carty had open heart surgery and declared that he was no longer an insufferable jerk.
Then Carty was re-elected. But he was still a jerk.

he is still not quite as bad as Kwamee... and you can't get to Michigan's lost peninsula without driving past my house.. maybe I should charge a toll???? :26:
Also the same mayer who built a marina downtown, well almost downtown... but to far to comfortably walk to the downtown park and restaurants then set the police on a summer long BUI crackdown, and now wonders why nobody uses the marina, not to mention eliminating Toledos deep water launch in the process.

You forgot that you can find him pushing a lawnmower on saturdays cutting grass in City Parks because the City is broke and can't afford to cut them. That's not bad but........he could be on a tractor doing 50 times the grass cutting in the same time frame.
BTW......no one is supposed to know. Even though the City is broke......Carty sent a team from Toledo to Tampa florida to compete for the title of an ALL-American City
Maybe he is using the money from the tickets to pay for the trips to Tampa!!

Bastards. The closest launch to me is Bolles Harbor now. It's only 28 miles away. If I have to launch at Bolles Harbor... why not just go to Detroit?

Carty's office is in a state building. They told him that he couldn't bring the dog to work anymore. Within a day... they had changed their mind... allowing the dog to return each day to the 22nd floor office of the mayor.
This prompted many of us to wonder if it is actually the dog who is in charge.

That vote was as interesting as usual in the union-belt.
We had the choice between two democrats. Both had been mayor before.
There were no new candidates or any other party represented.

I have smacked stuff at cullen in a 21' cc with a merc 150. wouldn't it have made a lot more sense to put the marina and a new deepwater launch where the sports arena was and the condos/shops further west?? if they ever actually get the condos built, the condo owners will be complaining about the noise from the bars/resturants etc in no time. Carty would rather focus on getting grants to make a customs terminal for a non existant international ferry to canada....
