Officially unemployed.

Bouy, No call from your old boss? I have some great ideas for him to check out.

Good luck out there bro. :)

Just glad my wife is flying back tomorrow afternoon - 3 1/2 weeks is a LONG time.

yea . . . thank god she doesnt know all you've done is screwed around online instead of look'in for a job

Good luck out there Tim, out of all the places i have been i actually liked Pheonix and thought i could live out there. Like i said if you ever make it up Squaw Peak see if you can find my camera i left up there :D

Good luck. Put the pedal to the metal and the thing to the floor... :D

I did the trip (Buffalo to L.A.) in 39 hours, but if I'd been pulled over, I'd still be in Jail. We also did L.A. to Omaha to L.A. in something like 58 hours (31 hours out and 27 back) with your boat in tow on the way there and my boat on the way back.

Enjoy the scenery. I hope the pups don't eat the interior on your truck!

Did Portland to NY in 43 hours when I was in high school. No speed limits across Montana, Wyoming way back then.

Have a very safe trip. That's plenty of time to enjoy it without pushing.

Am I gonna get to drive?:sifone:

Yeah you can drive the 110 miles:biggrinjester:

Funny!

Wayne, he'll let you drive from his house to the interstate then you have to pull over and let him drive.

Tim, good luck to both of you! I'm really sorry we never got to meet IRL, but I hope that one day we will!

I cannot imagine the excitement you both are experiencing, along with I'm sure a lot of other emotions.

Have a safe trip out to Arizona, stop and enjoy some of the sights along the way. I've been from Ohio to Vegas at least 10 times in my life (vacations) and we really do have a lot of beauty in these United States.

Probably be easier to stay on the highways, and closer to possibilities of hotels/restaurants.
I made the run from here to St. Lou to buy my boat, and there is not much in between even on the highways. Trying to run through South-West KY on St. Routes would be even worse.
Might have to go a few hours to find anything better than a flea-bag motel.

GL with the move....i feel for ya....i hate moving....i still have boxes piled up in spare bed rooms....but at the same time it is fun moving to different places and starting over.....i don't regret leaving Ky....i think we have talked a bit about that....

As of the end of the day tomorrow, I am officially unemployed. 6 yrs. and they can't find a new spot for me.
I feel bad for you guys that are there right now, and it wasn't your choosing.
This one was my choice, making the relocation out West where the wife has a MUCH better opportunity with her promotion.
Moving Co. comes Fri. to pack, and Sat to load the truck.
As soon as they are done on Sat. we're hitting the road.
Boat in tow, and two dogs in the backseat of the Avalanche. (already have tranquilizer from the vet).:)
Trailer was just completely gone through , replaced lights, wiring, all bearings, tires...
almost 1900 miles. I'm guessing at least 4 days, maybe 5.

Good news is that I've applied for only one job out there so far, and got a call tonite to set up an interview for when I get there.
I guess in this chitty economy I should be thankful for that at least.

Good luck 2 U & your family Dude!!!:sifone:

Go west young man.....!!

take your time towing the boat Tim.....get there in one piece.

you go out there and "get that grade 10!!"......!!!!! LOL!!

No Cable, No internet. Air matress and a few blankets and fold-out chairs.

Brings back chills of my moves to NYC and later to VA. Both times beat the movers. Sharing the air mattress just sucked. Next time I'll rent a bed or sleep on my foam floats from the boat. :D

Best of luck on the trip. Are the dogs really that anxious when they ride? Mine loves hopping in the back and eventually laying down. He could probably ride longer than me without a stop.

Good luck Tim!

You'll be fine dude- tell the wife you are trying to get work and just can't. Keep the house clean, make/order dinner every night and relax for a few years. Working for a living is over rated anyway...

Better yet- get a job at a liquor store. You can sample the "breakage" and play keno all day!

Yeah you can drive the 110 miles
There is h20 on both sides so not sure that is the best idea...

That is exactly the route I was planning on taking.

You will be coming right by Grad Lake and the famous E-Dock and also through Tulsa about 4 miles from my house.......

Have a safe trip and if you get time, and on a weekend, go dunk the boat in Grand and check out E-Dock!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes everybody.
Turned in the keys at the office, said my goodbyes, and now I'm drinking a beer and waiting to start the trip this weekend and move on to the next thing.
