"Official" NCAA Football Smack Talkin Thread

To make matters worse, Toledo will lose the last game of the season to USAF Academy!!!!! Go Falcons !

I am still really pizzed that Alabama got into the championship game.....

I'm gonna protest by not watching it......

Oklahoma State should be there, no one else.

Bama had their shot and puked it. Scoring a whopping two field goals in an entire game with overtime....

I'll be pizzed off about this so called championship game forever.....

I think OK State had the 6th toughest schedule in the nation and AL had like 23rd. And they both ended up with one loss...

College football’s bowl season kicks off Saturday with three games, including Ohio University vs. Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on the blue turf in Boise. Here are five other facts you can use to amaze your friends when the holiday party talk turns to football:

1. There are 35 bowl games, including the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on New Year’s Eve. That blockbuster features a team with a losing record (UCLA) and a team with a six-game losing streak (Illinois).

2. There are no bowl games on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, Jan. 1, 2012, falls on a Sunday, which means football fans will have to settle for the final week of the NFL regular season. But there are six bowl games scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2.

3. Ten of the Big Ten’s 12 schools are going bowling. Only three — Purdue, Illinois and Michigan — are listed as favorites by the Las Vegas bookmakers. Five of the six Jan. 2 games feature teams from the proud Midwest conference.

4. The Sugar Bowl welcomes Michigan and Virginia Tech. It’s the first Sugar matchup in decades without a team ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press poll. Wouldn’t Baylor and Robert Griffin III vs. Michigan and Denard Robinson have been a more attractive game?

Now What...............

Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin was injured Saturday after a post-practice altercation with a teammate, multiples sources told Fight On State.
McGloin suffered a seizure and a possible concussion, the player’s father, Paul McGloin told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg.

McGloin fell and struck his head on a hard surface after a locker room confrontation with backup receiver Curtis Drake, the sources told Fight On State.

The sources said McGloin was taken from the scene on a stretcher. He was treated at nearby Mount Nittany Medical Center and released, and as of late Saturday afternoon was back at his on-campus apartment.

In an email release Saturday night, Penn State Police confirmed that they were called to the Nittany Lions' Lasch Football Building earlier in the day to investigate the report of a fight between Drake and McGloin. The release confirmed that McGloin had been treated and released from the hospital.

"Campus police and Penn State's Office of Judicial Affairs will investigate the incident and report results as they would for any other student involved in an incident on campus," the release concluded.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg, citing information from McGloin's parents, said the quarterback suffered a seizure and probable concussion.

Western Michigan sure blew it........

Six friggin turnovers and still had multiple chances to win, (until number seven:smash:)....

Don't forget to watch the USAF Academy kick the crap out of Toledo today @ 3:30 Eastern.
"
Correction: The University of Toledo Rockets, with the most potent and explosive offense in the NCAA since November, boasting an 8th best in the nation and incredibly balanced offense favored by 3.5 points over Air Force, who only seems to be able to run the ball and only has the number 22nd ranked offense in the nation, and has more losses this season than UT, will not kick-off until 4:30p.m.
