Still flipping though all the literature they dropped off at our shop on tuesday. they did cut around 100+ lbs from their 250hp 4-strokes. The 9 new engines for this year were announced on monday
OK .... the FAT one is a 350 ..... and it is HEAVY ! they have a new 300 4 stroke comin out that is lighter then the current 300 2 stroke .... still waiting for all the info !!!
The 350 is going toe eventually be a 400 .... but they gotta move all the 350s that are on the shelves and hangin off the backs of all the boats first .
"The F300 is for boats with transoms that are limited to 300 or 600 horsepower," said Phil Dyskow, Yamaha Marine Group President. "We know there are boats that need a lot of thrust, but not all the horsepower of an F350."
The F300 differs from the F350 in several key ways. It is designed to operate efficiently using 87 octane gasoline rather than 89 octane. The F300’s fuel and ignition maps are designed to optimize power using lower octane gasoline. Therefore, the new outboard uses an engine control module specified exclusively for the F300.
Ed's Marine:
$18,500 for the 300
$20,100 for the 350
My 2 cents would be why would anyone want a 300 when you can get a 350! :driving:
