New raceboat for the UK

Will it take two of those 500HP small-block chevy outboards?????

From 7 Marine? Yes it will, I think we'll have to find bigger brackets for those though! Thinking about it if you weren't bothered about going very fast one would do - we're getting 70 mph from a pair of 260hp 3 litre diesels on Arnesons, so with the weight advantage and a single drive it will always manage over 60mph with one! A pair should see you easily over 100mph. :)

- it will also take staggered 525's if you're feeling adventurous!

You really think it would break 100 with twin Merc's? Or are you saying with twin 500's?

I was thinking of a pair of the 7 Marine outboards - I would have thought that over 1100 horsepower should push our little 34' boat over 100mph, twin 525's would do the same ............

That would be some really good numbers.......

I think it's a reasonable estimate - with 70mph already achieved from 520 diesel hp. I hope to be rigging a twin 300hp boat in the New Year so I will have more data then ...........
