New computer.

Buck. . no harm, no foul with me.

HT, I'm not mad. Gonna take a helluva lot more than that to make me mad. I was just putting my $.02 worth in from a layman point of view on all this technical mumbo jumbo.

In short, I just think it's cool.

buck, I knew that but it never hurts to say so, Hey all is cool. My son can make it dance. I am just trying to figure out a way to interface with it and my PC's. NOT EASY.

The reason why Macs are more secure is technological, not market based. Do you really believe that a hacker wouldn't kill to be the first with a successful virus for the Mac?

Again, as I stated in my original post - it is a religious issue. But the fact that you can't figure out a backup solution for Macs is more of an indictment of you than the available technology. There are numerous options available.

Look, if I derived income from selling services to fix computers I would love Microsoft. But unlike you, I don't. I'm not sure why you believe Windows 7 will be any different than any of the other releases they have ever had.

I don't share your experience of Apple's repair system. Follow this link and you will find that not many others do either. http://www.theacsi.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=149&Itemid=157&c=Apple+Inc. then goto the following to view Microsofts. http://www.theacsi.org/index.php?op...iew&id=149&Itemid=157&c=Microsoft+Corporation

At the end of the day I really don't care what you use. I just try to give the benefit of my experiences with both platforms. At one time I said grace over 125,000 desktops and 15,000 servers in 200 countries. So I know the support issues of security and software distribution with windows. After that, I ran Dell's desktop and server engineering teams in Austin. But, now that I don't have a bunch of really bright engineers to support my machines - I use a Mac.

Man you really need to go back and read my post. If you read my post APPLE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO. I am not talking about the store either I am talking about Corporate Tech. In the PC world it would have been easy. After all was said and done the price was so stupid that we went another rout for the storage solution. Before you make blanket statements you should maybe know what you are talking about.

Did some upgrades with this today. I'm eating this up.

I installed a sound system in my house when I built it. In other words I have speakers mounted in the ceiling in several key rooms. Living room, garage, master br, master bath (speaker in shower too), deck, basement, and so on. I can switch each room on as I desire and control volume individually to suit me needs. I can currently run my 110 disc changer, FM tuner, satellite tv radio, and iPhone through it. But wait...

I purchased the Airport Express from Apple. I hooked this up to my switcher that feeds my house sound. I can now listen to my iTunes wirelessly through my sound system from my computer with this. I downloaded the remote option for my iPhone to control my iTunes. I can now control my iTunes, which plays through the sounds system, with my phone from anywhere in the house. If I'm out on the back deck and I want to change a playlist, song, or volume I can just pull my phone out and I keep rockin.

I guess I'm easily humored....

Buck, I tried the same setup but the volume wasn't very consistent. It would go from quiet to ear piercing. My Express was also setup as a repeater to extend the range to my upstairs theater room. In the end, I just bought another IPod to put up there.

Granted my Express is around 4 years old but do you have good control over the volume?

Volume control works perfect. I can't think of what would be different, but I haven't seen anything that seems odd to me yet.

Yes Jon, there is lots of stuff I don't know. And instead of being a poser and blowing BS like you, I ask questions and try to learn something. I also leave open the possibility of just because something didn't work for me, that problem may be isolated to me - even caused by me, and not affect the rest of the known world.

But, there are a few things that I know very well. Managing global computing environments is one of those. Not because I think I could do it - but because I did it. Kinda like you and stereos.

So in the end, I guess what I'm saying is P iss Off.

Strong words to follow.

Ok I will waite for your "strong words to follow".... :boxing_smiley::rofl:

I forgot it is OK for you to say that the Mac is the end all but if I say that they are not for everyone then I am wrong.... OK :D
