New boat largest cruise ship....5X larger than Titanic

wrong answer Jay, it's because the boat is actually so big it has its own gravitational force... pulling people towards it.. :D

Whats the point in building something like that. Christ, it would take a 7 day excursion just to have enough time to see the whole boat. Besides if I wanted to go to a shopping mall, Starbucks, or a concert I could do it all at home without spending 2 grand for the novelty of being on a ship.

The wife an I took a 7 day cruise on the Voyager of the Seas, http://www.royalcaribbean.com/finda...O:12hbiocus?br=R&shipClassCode=VY&shipCode=VY and we never saw the whole ship. we never say the ice skating rink or the theater. At the time in 2000 it was the largest cruise ship in service. We needed another couple days to see the whole thing and my wife got lost more than once on it. :biggrinjester:

I wonder how going full speed makes it sit lower in the water

The greater speed of the water under the hull pulls it down like an airfoil. In shallow waterways this is magnified as the water is funneled between the hull and the sea bed. In narrow waterways the same occurs between the side of the hull and the side of the chanel or seawall and pull the ship sideways.

your basic cruise ship is nothing more than a floating home town buffet crossed with a vegas casino/hotel with cattle herding ports of call....... it's not tv..
