New 50' Mystic pleasure with V16's

Don Onken's latest project is over the top. A 50' Mystic open cockpit pleasure boat that will get the new V16's from his company Lightning Performance Group. Those engines are 1700 hp on pump gas at a mild 6100 rpm.

You would have to assume surface drives and some sort of crash boxes. 6's won't take the power nor will any planetary transmission.

It's a cool rig, but but Tom Gentry built a giant cat with quad engines on a pair of drives almost 30 years ago. It was also one of the most beautiful boats ever constructed.

Don Onkins other boat is a 46 Skater with quad 1000hp engines running into two surface drives using crash boxes. I wonder if he will use the 2000hp rated two speed transmissions they sell at Lightningn in his new boat? His son's 32 Skater was used for testing of the trans.

Tom purchased this boat which has the same setup as Don Onken's 46' Skater, Joe Mach's Dirty Laundry, Jim Learnado's 4 of a Kind, Dan Campbell's Jaguar, etc. etc.
