I'm doing a little rehab work on my 260 Stinger. So far I shedded the twin 350's and Alpha's for a BBC 502 with a Bravo 1 with new rigging, also reworked the cuddy by cutting out the fridge and cabinet with sink, just didn't need them. Installed all new carpet and headliner, indirect lighting, mirror and lighting controls. New stereo with a 850 watt amp, (4) 6.5" speakers and a 10" sub, and Jensen head unit. Started the project in Nov. 2011 want it in the water for a shake down run by Memorial Day weekend. Also got rid of the heavy steel trailer and picked up an aluminum trailer. Putting it back on the trailer today.

WOW
Swapped from twins to single
That must have been some work!
Congrats
Looks like a fun ride!

Here's a couple more pics. She's back on the trailer and will be completed tomorrow, Hopefully... Redid the dash had to lose a set of guages from the twin 350's. New cuddy doors they are clear with black curtains on each panel with a tri-fold hatch. works great. Never did find the right doors to replace the missing or broken ones that were original.I need to put the cushions in the cuddy to finish it. Still waiting for the cockpit carpet to get finished it will be a charcoal grey color. Should look good leading into the cuddy...

RCSHAP1, Fortunately for me I have a friend that use to work for Velocity Boats (14 years) and lives here in town. I'm maybe 10 miles from the Velocity Boats factory, next town south of where I live. He knew exactly what to do and how to do it. He was quick to teach me and help me along. Alot of beer and chicken wings next thing I knew we had the twins out and were rigging for the 502. I haven't had it in the water yet but everything seems to work as it should. You got to love knowing the right people. That doesn't usually work that way for me...

I have been a fan of the Chris' since I had my 1 st boat.
It was a 1984 Scorpion with a 185 hp v-6 but was solid and a FUN lil' ride!
That looks like a great project and lucky to have a friend like you have.
Congrats on it!!

Showtime.jpgT&B.jpgWell, My winter facelift project is complete. Next off season I will tackle the cockpit area. In the mean time I will be enjoying the waters around the Central Florida area, and looking for a pair of drop out bolster seats. If anyone knows someone that has a pair that they would be interested in trading for my double bolster drop out seat or sell cheap please send them my way. Here's Showtime back on the trailer and heading home...

Very cool.

I had a 1986 260 Stinger for a while. I really liked it alot.
I would have hung on to it, but the smallblocks were getting tired, and the drives were OMCs and shifted like crap, even with the shift interrupters working.

I spent a lot of time in a buddy's 26 Stinger years ago, nice running little boat; we always wanted to rig counter-rotating drives on it but back then it was not really feasible unless you went to Volvo.
