MTI Buyers Bullish on Mercury 1300/1350 Engines

You guys are too much—but that's what I like about you. Good MTI news becomes:

1. A shot at Skip Braver of Cigarette Racing Team.

2. A ... discussion about which is faster, an MTI or a Skater. (Hot tip: The one with the bigger power—and I'm sure this statement will lead to another ... discussion.)

For the record, I said I had a "strong hunch" that MTI had ordered the most 1300/1350 engines. I don't know this as a fact. I based my hunch knowing that 10 of those engines represents well over $1 million in purchase orders and that for a go-fast boat builder to order on that level the builder would have to be doing a lot of business, which by several accounts MTI is.

Also for the record, Randy Scism of MTI is really excited about the new Mercury Racing package. I heard it in his voice (and I check in with him regularly) and it was kind of exciting and really cool.

The marine industry is so, so far from out of the woods. But little bits of good news are worth reporting. At least I think so.

and great to hear... i new some of the guys that were layed off for a while so maybe they can get back to work for a while...

I think the engine package is really going to change things. Can't wait to see how they perform.

Hey Gino I heard your two speed transmissions are working real nice for you. Must be like a drag boat now? Maybe to be fair you should run in low gear the first leg of Havasu. Have fun and be safe.

Where's This Boat Really Heading??

Lets hope these engines pan out well for MTI, SKATER, CIGARETTE, OUTERLIMITS< ETC! The industry needs all the shots of novacaine it can get!
Good to know that obviously even in a dow n economy there are big deep pockets out there that do not need to ask HOW MUCH!

The really sad point however is: Even if all these manufacturers sell all their 2010 production capability it won't really make a dent in the overall current depresssion in the performance marine boat market!!

Its nice to see and hear about these top 3% of the market sales and developments, but I am concerned that our government, leadership Big Banks and Wall Streeters are to busy stuffing their pockets with our hard earned incomes, savings and futures and without a reasonable increase in manufacturing jobs here in the GOOD OL USA and a restoration of lost average net earnings, the future of this whole industry might continue shrinking faster than a small water pool in DEATH VALLEY in AUGUST!

I hope we all see a big improvement in the rest of the market the rest of this year! The 1300/1350 boaters may be out on some pretty empty waters!

Not trying to be as negative as this post sounds and Yes Raylar is selling parts, kits , engines and we'll be around for a long time because were debt free and we have small overhead, but we are way down in sales as many others on a daily weekly, monthly and I am sure yearly basis!

What I am trying to say here guys is please be as passionate, informed, outspoken, educated, and demanding as you can be when it comes to our futures!!! There are a lot of politicians, NOT PUBLIC SERVANTS, out there along with some financial types and special interests who do not have our successful performance boat industry futures in their thoughts or minds.

They are not really good honest individuals or businessmen and most are just greedy, not very intelligent and they are consumed with greed and power! They helped get us here! and they still got the sides of our performance boats in their deck gun crosshairs!

They will be right there at the deck rails screaming about how bad it is when they need your votes and dollars and they will also be the first RATS to jump off the slowly sinking ship! with your stolen dollars in bags as life jackets!

Save your futures and the future of this fine sport! Stop this accelerating destruction of our long term economic futures! The largest and most unsuccessful industry in the USA today is our TO BIG GOVERNMENT! ITS TURNING INTO A GIGANTIC BLOATED PIG WITH A FEW OF BLOOD SUCK'IN LEACHES FATTENING ON ITS BACKSIDE!
while its busy eating a lot of poisoned feed! and destroying our needed food supplies!

Sounds Dire doesn't it? You bet your Ass it is!! WAKE UP -PAY ATTENTION!

I write letters and make calls everyday to try and keep these devils under the scope of honesty and integrity, YOU NEED TO DO THE SAME! or in a few years you will be telling your grand children about how you used to be able to run fast and far in your wondeful old performance boat!!
Just a sad old memory!

Spend as much time everyday being a Patriot! and writing threads in other good places on the net about how, when and where we can stop this destruction! Keep yourself properly educated, turn off the TUBE and make your voices and votes count! If you don't care or are just to busy! HA! and lazy, don't bother to even try, your not needed!

OK, I"M DONE NOW! I can take any intelligent bashing anyday!

Uhhhh Ray, "novacaine" is for numbing/ pain blocking.......

I think you were shooting for all the shots of adrenaline it can get (more uplifting)!

Kill some of the Pain!

I know I don't know my drugs very well, I don't ever use them much.
What I was reffering in that use of novacaine for the industry boat builders, suppliers and sellers was to help numb the pain and bleeding that has occured over the last few years from this lousey depression and business losses and errosion in those companies and wallets.

I hope we can now soon inject some caffiene into the industry in the next year or so without the "patient" going code blue!

When it comes to who and what is really responsible for the mess we are in lets just Hope and Plan for the Best and Run like Hell from the Worst!

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
