Motorcycle Rider. Maybe the best I have seen.

Deal's Gap is on Hwy 129 at the state line of Tennessee and North Carolina.

I grew up in Knoxville, TN. The Deal's Gap run is a very beautiful and very curvy trip.

It boasts 318 turns in 11 miles. In Florida you may only see 11 turns in 318 miles. :)

I highly recommend it to any and all travelers in the East Tennessee area.

They took one out now we only have 10:sifone:

Looks thrilling. But it's borderline stupid to do that on a Goldwing. Get a bike that doesn't have hard saddlebags and a low-slung kick stand. You lean over just a bit too much and the kick stand will lift your rear tire off the ground and slide you out.

Get on a rice rocket and really enjoy the ride.

The rider's name was "Lone Wolf". He is regarded in that area as one of the best locals on the road. He used to make money by video taping other riders, from behind or in front. The goldwing was set up with all his video editing equipment. The story is a top level rider on a ducati 999 said there was no way that a goldwing could keep up. So Lone Wolf said if the Ducati guy can lose him the video is free. Of course Ducati guy wound up paying for a video.

That was then, but now the road is patrolled way to heavily by the police. We go down there every year to ride the whole area. 129 is cool, but there are 1000's of miles of great roads all over the area.

I'm sure he does own a "rice rocket" or proper name "sport bike" also. Just like one of them there cigarette boats. The gold wing is actually a great handling motorcycle, most everyone that spent their youth on sport bikes moves to goldwings. They may look the size of a harley full dresser, but there is absolutely no comparison in handling. The goldwing blows anything else its size away. It feels like a bike half its weight once you are moving.

Also, proper technique on any bike trumps all. Especially on the Dragon, no strait-aways to give bad riders a crutch.

It's a great road for anyone that is driving, almost guaranteed car sickness for passengers though.

Sweet...is that a knee or a peg you can hear scraping?

And how many of us moved our head side to side while watching the vid? :D :D

I had 1975 gold Wing nice bike pretty agile for the weight!I did a 360 in side of a jack in The box drive in so I don't doubt this video:bump:Except for the speed of the video?:confused:Best I've ever seen NOT!
