Tropical Storm Idalia – latest update
With the Monster Energy P1 Offshore St. Pete Grand Prix taking place this weekend (September 1-3) we are closely following the progress of Tropical Storm Idalia as it nears Florida.

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center forecasts that the storm will hit Florida tomorrow morning (Wednesday) after intensifying into a category 3 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and then heading northeast toward the west coast of Florida.

Currently the event will move forward as planned. Further updates will be released as the storm progresses.

The water looks a bit rough though.....

Doesn't look too bad currently, just a lot of water where the pits will be may be the biggest issue other than getting there towing a boat.

Dear Offshore teams,

We have been given the green light by the St Pete PD to proceed with the event. The Parks and Rec dept has asked us to please not have any teams arrive before 12 noon tomorrow as we would like to give the P&R time to remove any debris etc. We are working on an area the teams to stage and coordinate prior to coming into St Pete.
