Midwest Challenge Day 2—Flexing Their Muscles

The final lap move El Bandito pulled off in the turn was the most impressive driving move I seen covered at any boat racing event.

Fantastic Driving by Steve Fehrmann! Outstanding!

Dirty Money most likely blew an engine according to Brit and Bill. One of the belts went first, alternator or water pump or ?, but whichever it was took out all the others, including the timng belt, which caused a major engine issue.

Yeah, they said drive, and that's also what was reported elsewhere. But, one of the belts went, taking out the other belts, and the one that automatically shut down the engine was when the oil pump belt went, the safety shuts down the engine when the oil pressure drops to 20 pounds.

Chatting with them yesterday and today, they were worried that because the prop keeps the engine turning over the engine may have been majorly damaged. But, it looks fine so far, so they are replacing the bearings and putting it back together for Sarasota. :cheers2:

And the timing belt did not fail, the oil pump belt, loss of oil pressure, was the biggest concern after they looked into it.

But it looks like they only have to replace bearings as a precaution, even they looked okay.
