Michigan City Mishaps, Part One

Serious News

What's Happening
Michigan City's SBI race had 6 boats entered in the Supercat class, a really nice turnout. Coming down the front straight it was WHM on the inside, M-Con in Lane 2, Cleveland Construction in Lane 3, Performance Boat Center in Lane 4, AMH trailing the rest of the pack wide in Lane 5, and Pro Floors pacing the front runners in Lane 6.

Coming into Turn 1, Pro Floors had moved across and was still pacing the rest of the group on the outside. Everybody was maintaining their lanes, AMH was trailing behind.

After that, you hope nobody is injured in any way, but when you see those you know climb out on their own, your entire day becomes a whole lot better.

And it's time for rescue to do their job.

Both Ed and Grant are fine. Peter Hledin was at the race and inspected the boat as soon as it was in the pits. Several areas of damage, but nothing appears to be unfixable in a reasonable amount of time.

Hopefully, they will be at the next race in a couple weeks.

Thanks,

The boat should be at Skater today or tomorrow. Ed took it to his shop from the race to pull the motors and anything in the way of repairs that need to be made.

It needs a new air intake scoop, it was totally gone. Some hatches need repair and a couple stress cracks that need to be dug into to see if they are only surface or go into the structural area at all.

We will try to keep updates on here as we learn.

The damage is fairly small. They are going to repair it at Ed's shop, not even bring it to Skater.

They are planning on Dunkirk in 10 days at this time.

I think the boat that they brought was the old Gasse boat. Seems to be that it was not that old nor ran much. Hate to see it as it was nice to have 3 boats back in that class. Glad they are both ok. Hard to tell what happend from the videos.
