Miami Boat Show - What will it be like this year

With all the economic upheaval what is the show going to be like this year ???

I hope the convention center lowers their rates ( I dought they will) to keep the manufactureres coming With the economy in the toilet the convention center needs to provide an incentive for people to be there

It is a very expencive to show up and display

Any boat manufacturers commited already ??? What about the other companies that display

It was a much significantly smaller show last year.....this year I predict it will be 30% smaller than last year

Off topic,but on a better note,the 39th Annual Birmingham,Alabama Boat Show in Feb is sold out,and with a waiting list if anyone drops out.One dealer cancelled this Spring and the promoter filled it with one phone call. There are a few bright spots in our crazy industry.

With some manufacturers selling direct now it may be tougher for a dealer to justify the high expense of a display if the customer buys something direct. Manufacturers have always had a big presence in Miami anyway but some dealers used to also put on a big display.
