if you watch that 193 mph video you'll see that it took him half the lenght of FL to acheive that speed.. Dont get me wrong thats an awesome speed, but a shoot out, or a drag race between the 2 would be an awesome sight
That's not true we ran from Miami and hit 193 right before Jacksonville
The day we did the run, JT had only been in the boat 1 or 2 times before for very short rides. He was being very cautious not knowing how the boat would handle, and concerend about a drive or prop failure. The acceleration was very slow and cautious keeping saftey in mind.
Looking forward to a good weekend. I think it will be a very interesting weekend having 2 fresh motors this year. Last year we had an electrical problem we never actually pinned down. We ended up changing wiring harnesses and all other wiring to eliminate the problem.
There have been a few discrepancies posted.
I believe the Mercedes boat is in a different class then Pure Platinum due to the size difference.
I just spoke with JT and aked him about the running surfaces. (Just want to make it known he completely neutral and would never consider taking sides!! He knows nothing about this thread).
Quote "the 388 running surface is at least a 12" shorter possibly a few inches more then that"
I hear the running surface mentioned all the time but don't hear much
about the 1,000+ lb weight difference.
The actual HP of my engines the way they are set up according to Sterling are 1,470 each.
We really haven't touched the boat since the Bimini run. We will probably pull it out next week to hose the dust off of it.
Both boats have different advantages and disadvantages.
I also have at least 60 lbs on Bill
but
Bill has a MUCH bigger head so that probably evens us out!!:26::kiss:
As always should be very interesting and give us all a lot to talk about for weeks after the event!!
