^^^ I saw that Powerplay and it looks like a great boat but I would like something with a little more room in the berth. I'm probably gonna sleep on the boat occassionally

Thanks for the plug! I was just going to post on this thread. I'm in Cincy and the boat has been to Erie, handled it great. Was a nice day for Erie (2-3's) and was solid as a rock. I can sell w/o power or take the blower off and put an intake and carb on it also.

no prob, that is a sharp ride and will make someone a fun toy!

I love the Pantera's but they bring a premium, and being that this is my first boat I don't wanna spend to awful much.

The Baja's are cool. They are in your price range and they are easy to find. My girlfriend's family sold new Baja's til last year. I've always like them!

Oh and my friend has a CLEAN 27 Powerquest with a single big block. The boat is garage kept looks like new. He only wants like $15k for it. It's in St. Pete FL. Has a big cabin.

the cabin on a 25 pp is pretty roomy, you just have a tight entrance.

The powerquest seems like a good price and is bigger than the others you mentioned. And if cash is an option, pay cash. Always!

I may be over stepping my bounds here but if your new to boating you may not want to purchase a performance boat 1st. And being a manufacture of hipo boats and you came to me i would strongly suggest tres school if you really must have a speed hull. Lets be real, many 1st time buyers who are just getting into the sport of boating need and should have years of experience prior to getting even a 20+ foot perf boat.

i would say the safest, cleanest, and most usable hull could be one of charlies 24 with a single o/b shown in previous post

If you aren't mechanically inclined buy something pretty new. 5 years old MAX 1-3 years old or brand new is better.

Or, if you are not mechanically inclined but have a big wallet you can just pay someone.

Even maintenance items on a boat are expensive and a total PITA. Things that must be done take a lot of time, usually require a few special tools, and will cost you a freakin' fortune to pay someone. If you do it yourself plan on a weekend of solid work for maintenance at least one time per year if it is a nice newer boat. exponentially add to that number if it is older.

i have a 25'1992 outlaw, with $55k in motor, drive, and mechanical upgrades. these were down last year. very fast and stable. 3 months after i did all this work my wife wanted a bigger and faster boat. this boat is very reliable. 496 ho mag with wipple super charger,set back box,xr upper,imco lower. two amps.8 speakers. easy on fuel. will sell for $35k. needs nothing,professionally done at local merc shop.if you want pics and a complete list,let me know.

When you buy a boat, make sure an experienced driver takes it out first to teach you what to look for. All boats handle differently. If you get a step bottom, turning correctly is very important....

I'd recommend Tres classes.

I would recomend CFD's boat as well! It is a lot roomier than you would think! You're close enought that you might as well take a look? You will have a true offshore style boat that will not rattle and come apart on lake erie!
