Long Distance records

Pepe get's my "Big Cojones" award..Hands down.

Anybody have George Morales official time? I am thinking it was under 20 hours, but my memory is not what it once was...once was....once was.

What?

Award?
Not really, just the will to do it and be able to tell my grandson,
"been there done that"
Life is short, and I think to get "older" w/o war stories has to be boring!

I second Rich, Pepe has a BIG PAIR! And a lot of HEART. Thanks for all the memories from the 70's Pep! God Bless.

I thought so.......

Based on that, Gentry was slower than Morales , and Morales set the mark 4 years before the Eagle's attempt.

I guess the Chapman Award missed George somehow...........

Did Buzzi run from Miami to NY?

Yeah. Talk about a set of stones! Every competitor ran up the ditch except Fabio. He ran outside all the way, and beat the next boat about a day. He is the best there ever was for that duty.

Morales did it in 19hr 33min
Gentry did it in 19hr 17min

Gentry was the last one that i heard had the record not sure what it is now....

Take a look at the attached video.

Gives a little history of the Tampa Miami, Miami-Nassau (both ways & round trip) and a Great Lakes record across Lake Erie from Toledo, Ohio to Buffalo, New York.

We did a few runs in the mid '90s prior to Nemschof & Buzzi taking the Sony Boat and given us a spanking.

Had a great time while it lasted!
