Watching "The Song Remains the Same" on VH1 Classic.

Every time I see them I am still amazed at the level they set the bar.

Absolutely awesome

I saw it- and I own it on DVD.

I saw Zep in a tent next to a horse track on their first tour. It wasn't even full. What an absolutely amazing band.

I saw them May 10th, 1973, at Tampa Stadium. At the time, that concert set the record for attenance a single band concert in history. I paid the ridiculous price on $6 to get in. That was at the time, the most I had ever paid to see a concert, and I'd been to many of them.:26:

Love the Zep.

Especially love how no two songs sound even remotely similar to another... yet they all sound like Led Zep.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now...it's just a spring clean for the May queen.

Does anybody know what that means?

I thought you were my age. :sifone: was that in 1969? :)

Yeah- I was eleven. I was fortunate enough to have a cousin that was a few years older. We were very close and both really into music. He dragged me everywhere, so I got to see some amazing stuff at a really young age. I even got to see Aerosmith play a high-school dance.

The first album changed my life, Don't know if it was for the good or bad but I was never the same afterwards. I saw them 2 times in I think 71.

Zepp II was my first album of theirs. I loved Ramble On from the first time I heard it. I never got to see them in concert.

Big fan in high school. Used to ride each day with two friends. ONe owned a beat-up beetle. Had all the cassettes in the glovebox. Once the tape played both sides, whomever was riding shotgun had to switch the tape.

Also a huge Pink Floyd fan. Both bonds set the bar higher than most will ever achieve. Never got into The Dead, but I suspect they are on the same level.

Separately, Tears for Fears and U2 are the leaders of their time.

Hanna Montana and Britney just don't get it right. Might sell alot of albums but not reach the high levels. Good thread.

Now, if only someone would remaster Zeppelin with enough bass to make my boat's system sing.
