It's the largest yacht ever to dock at Fort Lauderdale's iconic Bahia Mar marina: a 312-footer complete with a swimming pool, fully equipped barbecue area, movie theater and interiors worthy of a mansion.

The mega-yacht Kismet, with an estimated worth of at least $200 million, is associated with Pakistani-American billionaire Shahid Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars professional football team.

The Kismet arrived at Bahia Mar marina last week and is expected to stay at least a couple of weeks, according to the marina operator, RCI Marine.

The yacht is available for winter charter from Fort Lauderdale's Moran Yacht & Ship at weekly base rate of $1.2 million — not including food, fuel and dockage that can run 20 percent to 35 percent more.

German shipbuilder Lürssen launched the new Kismet last year for a repeat customer who sought an upgrade from his 223-footer of the same name. The smaller version had appeared at Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County international boat shows as the largest yacht on display.

The larger Kismet offers eight staterooms that can sleep up to 16 guests.

The yacht's interior, designed by Reymond Langton, features wide open public spaces for dining and lounging. Rooms feature exotic woods, handmade textiles, leather and marble.

Naval architect Espen Oeino styled the exterior to feature large windows on all of the decks.

The ship can carry up to 28 crew members.

Other amenities: a sauna, elevator, helicopter landing pad, WiFi connection on board, gym and exercise equipment, underwater lights, stabilizers at anchor and stabilizers underway — to name a few.

The Kismet's arrival follows a recent upgrade at Bahia Mar marina to accommodate larger yachts, generally up to 230 feet long. Special arrangements were made to host the 312-footer.

Born in Pakistan to a middle-class family, Khan came to the U.S. at age 16 to attend college. He studied engineering and later designed a revolutionary one-piece truck bumper that was lighter and provided more structural support. His auto parts manufacturing company, Flex-N-Gate, now has roughly $4 billion in annual sales, according to Forbes magazine.

Besides the Jaguars, the 64-year-old Khan also owns English soccer team Fulham F.C. Kismet also has docked in London and been offered for charter there, according to British media reports.

Forbes estimates Khan's net worth at more than $4 billion. It highlighted Khan on its cover as the face of the American Dream. The magazine in 2014 ranked Khan No. 110 on its list of the richest Americans and the wealthiest one of Pakistani origin.

Fort Lauderdale is known as the "Yachting Capital of the World" because of its specialized maintenance and repair facilities, ample waterways and central location. Many big yachts spend winters in the Caribbean and summers in Europe, stopping in Fort Lauderdale along the way for boat work.

Kismet just returned from three weeks of charter in the Caribbean and is undergoing routine maintenance in Fort Lauderdale, according to Moran Yacht & Ship.

The lease on the Bahia Mar hotel and marina properties was bought last year for an undisclosed price by a group led by Tate Capital and Rok Acquisitions of Miami, with minority partners Rialto Capital Management (37 percent) and RCI Marine (5 percent).

The new investors seek to boost the global profile of the marina. One way to accomplish that: bring in the world's largest luxury yachts — like the Kismet.
