So who stayed where this past year for the World's and where do they plan on staying next year?

I was in KW at the Galleon and harbor seemed kind of empty and some festivities weren't as crowded. Not sure if it was the economy, my eyes were too blurry too often or everyone was split up.

We stayed at the Westin on Front Street, very convenient, but over-rated. They take dogs so that was great. We ran our boat (cc) down from south Tampa on Tuesday, took 5 hours.

Staid at the Sheraton, and some resort another day.. (Don't even remember the name,) ok but it was over raded and pricy.

Next year.. at the Weston with the slips.

I stay at my own place and that's not an option in your poll

I didn't want to make than an option since I am staying there next year and I didn't want to have a house party without checking with you 1st.

Don't worry- if we break any thing I'll have a yard sale on Monday to get some $$ together so you can fix it. Let me know if any thing is a heirloom so I can price (jack) it accordingly!

You forgot the "Allen 4 is a Putz" choice.....

The YCOA facility is beautiful and well-equipped, but it could be a marina anywhere in Florida. It has no Key West feel whatsoever. Plus, that means constant cab rides (and waiting for cabs to get out there) if you want to do the typical KW/Duval stuff.

We stayed on a condo in Truman Annex- it was nice and quite, close to everything and dirt cheap.

quiet? :sifone: :D

yep . . . contact

athomeinkeywest.com

always got good prices and nice places. I have rented from them several times and will continue to use them. Great customer service to seeing there.

I also noticed the crowd seemed light, very light. Looked to me about half to two thirds of what i am use to.

walking distance is always the best choice, trying to stay awake on a 30 minute cab ride after a night on duval is a bear. not to mention could get quite expensive @ 25-30 bucks a trip.

Me trying to walk after a night on Duval is not a pretty sight.

I had a hard time making it in the pedi-cab from Sloppy Joes to The Galleon on Front Street!

We stayed on Stock Island at Oceanside Marina which is called Kings Pointe now. There are nice condos available that we found on VRBO. It is right next door to YCOA. It was kind of convienient because FPC had several events at YCOA. We actually rented a 4 seat electric car and could get to the party scene in KW in about 15 min. (25MPH) The facilities at Kings Point were great. YCOA had very nice place, good food and bar too!
