Musing's:
Today's races, with the double points, could make for some interesting results.
Gasse and Qatar, in Superboat Unlimited, could go either way (or tie). If Gasse broke down first, Qatar broke down second, and Geico was the only finisher; I believe Geico would win the championship. Gasse and Qatar did both break during Friday's race, it just happened on the last lap for both and they still finished first and second.... Hmmmmmmm
The race in Super Vee Limited is for second, unless Snowy breaks down. Then it becomes really interesting between Absolutely Not, Scott Free Racing, and Watch You Back. I do not know what parity adjustments were made to Snowy, if any. I'm assuming so according to the rules, but really do not know.
P4 became really interesting. I guess the GPS unit on Maximum Marine did not register any speeds during Friday's race, so they were moved from 1st to 4th (last place points according to the rules). That makes it a really tight three-way race for the championship between Maximum Marine, Dare Devil, and Rum Runners.
Superboat Extreme, as I said earlier, is a really tight race between the top 4 boats with Twisted Metal in the drivers seat, but Lucas Oil 77 and Instigator being right there close behind....
And then the new class, Superboat, is also a really tight race. Stihl has a 1st and a 2nd for 475 points, Maritimo has a 1st and a 4th for 432.5 points, JD Byrider has two 3rd's for 405 points, WHM has 2nd and a 5th for 389.5 points, and CRC has 4th and a 5th for 347 points. This class really appears to have great potential for the season.
The double points today are 500 for 1st, 450 for second, 405 for third, 365 for 4th (I believe). So a big shakeup is possible in more than one class....
