When we were running for world records in RC boats. We took RC helicopter gyros and put them in an unlimited RC Scale boat. The front and rear cannards were linked to the gyros on rapid reaction servos and would change angles depending on the attitude of the boat. It stopped the flips, but was outlawed of course......

I believe they are also illegal in every other form of boat racing now too.....
